Day Of Atonement
(Yom Kippur)

The Day of Atonement is YOM KIPPUR in Hebrew.

At Jesus’s first coming, He already fulfilled this appointed time partially by being the final atonement. We no longer need animal sacrifices to take away our sin. Jesus is the only One that washes us clean.

At Jesus’s second coming, He will fulfil the completion of God’s Vengeance.

Completion of God’s Vengeance

At Jesus’s Second Coming at the Day of Trumpet, this day of the Lord is also the day of vengeance.

At Jesus’ return, He would slay the lawless one who claims himself God.

2 Thessalonians 2:8 (NASB1995)
Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming

This day also embarks the pouring of God’s wrath onto the earth.

God’s wrath will be poured out and completed in the 10-day period between the Day of Trumpet (1st of the 7th month) and the Day of Atonement (10th of the 7th month).

In the Bible, the number 10 was associated with divine law, completeness of order and God’s vengeance for redemption, for examples:

  • The Ten Commandments

  • The ten plagues in Egypt that God sent to free His people

  • Noah was the 10th generation from Adam when God sent the flood for a reset

The Book of Revelation Chapter 16 describes there will be 7 bowls of God’s wrath being poured out during this period. Jesus will come by Himself and His army in the end for a great victorious battle.

This period of vengeance is to punish:

  • the lawless one who claims himself God (the one appears at the abomination of desolation)(Daniel 9:27) – being slayed at the day of the Lord (2 Thessalonians 2:8)

  • those who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image (Revelation 16:2)

  • the marine kingdom (Revelation 16:3)

  • those who kill the saints and the prophets (Revelation 16:4-5)

  • those who did not repent (Revelation 16:8-10)

  • those who worship demons, commit idolatry, murders, sorceries, immorality, thefts (Revelation 9:20-21)

  • the kings of the world who want to wage war against God (Revelation 16:12-14)

  • the kings of the earth who committed acts of immorality with the harlot of Babylon (Revelation 17:1-2)

  • those who were made drunk with the wine of immorality of the harlot of Babylon (Revelation 17:1-2)

Get Out From Babylon

It is worth to note that God will punish those who join with the great harlot of Babylon.

Revelation 17:1-2 (NASB1995)
1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, “Come here, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality.”

Babylon was first mentioned in Genesis 10. The word ‘babel’ in verse 10 in original Hebrew is בָּבֶל (Strong’s 894. Babel) which means Babylon.

Genesis 10:8-12 (NASB1995)
8 Now Cush became the father of Nimrod; he became a mighty one on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the Lord.” 10 The beginning of his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.11 From that land he went forth into Assyria, and built Nineveh and Rehoboth

The Tower of Babel in Genesis 11 is a famous story that describes humanity's attempt to build a city with a tower reaching heaven to make a name for themselves, but God, seeing their unified ambition and single language, confused their speech, causing them to scatter across the Earth and abandon the project.

The Tower of Babel was about rebelling against God with
one nation, one language and one world government.

Ezekiel 8:16 (NASB1995)
Then He brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house. And behold, at the entrance to the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs to the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east; and they were prostrating themselves eastward toward the sun.

2 Kings 23:5 (NASB1995)
He did away with the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah had appointed to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah and in the surrounding area of Jerusalem, also those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun and to the moon and to the constellations and to all the host of heaven.

2 Kings 23:11 (NASB1995)
He did away with the horses which the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entrance of the house of the Lord, by the chamber of Nathan-melech the official, which was in the precincts; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.

In the old Babylonish system, Sunday was the sun god’s day, and Monday was the moon god’s day. That’s how our names came from. In the Babylonian astrological system, all the gods of heaven (the stars), were considered offspring or emanations of the Sun God. The Sun God, Shamash, also known as Utu, was the primary idol being worshipped in Babylon.

Sun God worship is also huge in all pagan religions.

Babylon is also the centre of sexual abominations.

The system of the Babylonian religion is based on sex. “She” (goddesses) is fertilized in the spring, and the Sun God was said to be “reborn” at the winter solstice.

They performed sex rituals as worship, especially on the spring equinox, from temple prostitutes, to paedophilia, homosexuality and bestiality.

You can find a lot of erotic acts recorded on stone tablets.

Mystery Babylon refers to the practice of sun worship and all kinds of abominations, including:

  • Idolatry

  • Sexual abominations

  • Child and human sacrifices

  • Witchcraft

  • Divination

  • Sorcery

  • Spell casting

  • Calling up the dead

  • Consulting or being the medium or spiritist

Scripture also told us about their trades – including sex slaves and human trafficking.

Revelation 18:12-13 (NASB1995)
12 cargoes of gold and silver and precious stones and pearls and fine linen and purple and silk and scarlet, and every kind of citron wood and every article of ivory and every article made from very costly wood and bronze and iron and marble, 13 and cinnamon and spice and incense and perfume and frankincense and wine and olive oil and fine flour and wheat and cattle and sheep, and cargoes of horses and chariots and slaves and human lives.

Although the physical Babylon nation no longer exist, spiritual Babylon still exist, and its inheritance has been appearing in different forms in our lives than those in ancient times.

Scripture said the Mystery Babylon is greatly penetrated in our lives even until the judgement day, including music, art, food, business and medicine:

Revelation 18:22-23 (NASB1995)

22 And the sound of harpists and musicians and flute-players and trumpeters [music] will not be heard in you any longer; and no craftsman of any craft [art] will be found in you any longer; and the sound of a mill [food] will not be heard in you any longer; 23 and the light of a lamp will not shine in you any longer; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be heard in you any longer; for your merchants [business] were the great men of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery [Strong’s 5331. Pharmakeia: the use of drugs and medicine].

So God warned us to get out from Mystery Babylon (Babylon is also known as the Chaldeans), or we will together be judged and punished.

Revelation 18:4-8 (NASB1995)
4 I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues; 5 for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 6 Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her. 7 To the degree that she glorified herself and lived sensuously, to the same degree give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.’ 8 For this reason
in one day her plagues will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong.

Jeremiah 50:8 (NASB1995)
Wander away from the midst of Babylon and go forth from the land of the Chaldeans;
Be also like male goats at the head of the flock.

Jeremiah 51:6 (NASB1995)
Flee from the midst of Babylon, and each of you save his life!
Do not be destroyed in her punishment, for this is the Lord’s time of vengeance;
He is going to render recompense to her.

Isaiah 48:20 (NASB1995)
Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans!
Declare with the sound of joyful shouting, proclaim this,
Send it out to the end of the earth;
Say, “The Lord has redeemed His servant Jacob.”

God does not want us to be destroyed because of her!

This is a great wake up call to live a set apart lifestyle!

It’s time for us to take some time with the Holy Spirit to review our lives, and see if we need to cut off anything, including the music and entertainment we enjoy, the food we love, the way of doing business, the trust and use of vaccines and drugs.

Historically, Babylon was the centre of idolatry and sun worship. The Babylonians were known for their polytheistic beliefs, worshipping a large pantheon of gods and goddesses.

The Bride-Chamber

During this period of time, the bride of Christ will enter the bride-chamber for the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Revelations 19:7-9 (NASB1995)
7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” 8 It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
9 Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” And he *said to me, “These are true words of God.”

Bride-chamber is the place where the wedding ceremony is held.

In Jewish practice, a wedding began with a joyous procession to the groom’s house, where a room was set apart for the couple. Marriage is not a private event but a communal event.

The word bride-chamber appeared in the Scriptures.

Matthew 9:15 (NASB1995)
And Jesus said to them, “The attendants of the bridegroom [bride-chamber] cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.

(also in Mark 2:19 and Luke 5:34)

The word of bridegroom in original Greek is νυμφών (Strong’s 3567. Numphón) which means bride-chamber and wedding hall. It refers to the room or space where a wedding celebration takes place. This word represents the time of joy and celebration, and covenant be established.

The door mentioned in the parable of 10 virgins is the bride-chamber.

Matthew 25:10-13 (NASB1995)

10 And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut. 11 Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’ 12 But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.

The door of bride-chamber will be shut after the day of the Lord. All who are left will need to endure the day of vengeance.

Near the end of this period of wrath, Jesus and His army (His bride in the glorified body) will leave the chamber and come for battle with the kings of the earth and their armies.

Revelations 19:11-15, 19 (NASB1995)
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.

In the end, the beast and false prophet will be defeated and thrown alive into the lake of fire. Others will be killed.

Revelations 19:20-21 (NASB1995)
20 And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.

Satan will be casted down into the abyss.

Revelation 20:1-3 (NASB1995)
1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.

They will all be defeated.

Thus, God’s wrath and vengeance is completed.
