Prophetic Fulfilment of Jesus's Second Coming

In Leviticus 23, God introduced His festivals to the Israelites.

Jesus's First Coming

At the first coming of Jesus, He already fulfilled:

Sabbath: Jesus is our rest and restores sonship with us.
Passover (Pesach): Jesus was the Passover sacrifice.
Feast of Unleavened Bread (Chag HaMatzot): Jesus was the unleavened bread who was without sin. The bread is His body and because of the New Covenant, we also become part of His body.
First Fruit: Jesus is our first fruit of resurrection.
Feast of Weeks /Pentecost (Shavuot): We receive the Holy Spirit of promise.
Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) - Partial: Jesus is the final atonement.
Feast of Tabernacle (Sukkot) - Partial: Jesus was born as a man and tabernacled among us.

Leviticus 23:2 (NASB1995)
“Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord’s appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations—My appointed times are these

The word “convocations” in original Hebrew is מִקְרָא (Strong’s 4744. Miqra) not only mean a public meeting, it also means rehearsal.

The feasts of the Lord announced to the Israelites were all foreshadows to the Messiah. They are rehearsals. They are the illustration to salvation.

We serve a God that declares the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:9-10).
The appointed feasts God instructed in the Old Testaments point to things which have not been done.

Jesus is the fulfilment and the manifestation of the Law,

Matthew 5:17 (NASB1995)
Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.

John 1:31 (NASB1995)
I did not recognize Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing in water.

The feasts of the Lord are also part of the Law!

All the appointed feasts actually centre around Jesus!

Jesus's Second Coming

At Jesus’s return /second coming, He will fulfil:

Day of Trumpet (Yom Teruah): Great Day of the Lord, 1st resurrection.
Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur): Completion of God’s Vengeance.
Feast of Tabernacle (Sukkot): Millennial reign of Christ.
