This page discusses the spiritual aspect on cancer.

Cancer is a physical condition with relation not only in the physical body, but the mind (chronic unforgiveness and bitterness) and spiritual causes.

In the page Useful Education, I shared a resource from Dr. Michelle Strydom which she explained about the mind-body connection between cancer and chronic unforgiveness. If you have not learned about that, please check them out here.

In this section, I will focus on dealing with the spiritual cause of cancer.

Now after you accepted Jesus as your Savior, you have now become the children of God and you can call Him – Father!

As a good loving Father, God never makes His children to get cancer in order to ‘teach them a lesson’.
God wants you to be well.

Apart from physical matter (food, diet, use of toxic-containing lifestyle products, viruses, parasites), we also need to attend to spiritual truth in order to fight a good fight.

I hope this page can provide you with more insights on the spiritual side of cancer.
What presented here is not absolute, which means I am not saying “If you got cancer, you must be xxx”. They are only reference and templates.

Let the Lord lead you in this healing journey, for He knows best your situation.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace that gives you the inner peace in this journey of healing. He is also your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

At the hospital or clinic, fear of death might enter after the doctor told you about the diagnosis, or the chance of living...
We need to keep in mind that the diagnosis is not the final sentence of our life. Jesus is the life and resurrection, and He has the final say.

When the medical professionals spoke to you about your situation, you can still reject that by prayer.
For example, "I reject this diagnose or what the doctor pronounced over me in Jesus's name."

The battle of cancer is not just physical but spiritual.

The Word of God (Bible) is imperishable (1 Peter 1:23), living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), is spirit and life (John 6:63).

1 Peter 1:23 (NASB1995)
for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.

Hebrews 4:12 (NASB1995)
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

John 6:63 (NASB1995)
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

UNFORGIVENESS AND BITTERNESS

As explained by Dr. Michelle Strydom, chronic unforgiveness and bitterness are the root cause, main toxic mindset behind cancer. Although most of the time is personal, unforgiveness and bitterness could be a generational iniquity that passed down in the family. It is more than an emotion.

For example, something major happened among your ancestors that opened doors to unforgiveness and bitterness against the mother by the son. The generations after, the children might tend to also have such emotions against their mothers. This is because unforgiveness and bitterness are also evil spirits. They teach the people along the bloodline how they should think. Evil spirits love to speak by first-person which makes you think they are all your own thoughts.

So when we are to deal with unforgiveness and bitterness (and past hurts), we also need to deal with the spiritual side. We have authority in Jesus Christ to cast out the demons from our lives.

However, it is important to note that deliverance must go with healing, as it is often the trauma or soul wounds that open doors to unforgiveness and bitterness.

Jesus is able to help you bind up your broken heart and wounds.

THE CURSE OF CANCER

Genesis 4:10-11 (NASB1995)
He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to Me from the ground. Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

Deuteronomy 19:10 (NASB1995)
So innocent blood will not be shed in the midst of your land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance, and bloodguiltiness be on you.

Proverbs 6:16-17 (NASB1995)
There are six things which the Lord hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood…

Innocent bloodshed can be caused by murder, abortion or even by accident. Spiritually, accidental killing is treated as an "unintentional sin" that still need atonement (Leviticus 4:2) because blood is a currency in the spiritual realm. The devil can still make use of the innocent bloodshed for evil purposes.

P.S. I am not saying as an absolute that the reason of the curse of cancer is innocent bloodshed. It was only a possibility in my revelation. If your family has a pattern of cancer, it is BEST to ask God directly how this curse came about, so that you can pray more precisely to break it.

Cancer can be a curse.

If one observes a pattern of getting cancer in the family line, not only there could be genetic factors, spiritually there could actually be a curse that runs in the bloodline.

Through Jesus, we can be cycle-breakers. The work of His cross and His Blood is powerful enough to restore any gene defect and forgive any iniquity that opened the door to this curse.

In my own revelation, I found the shedding of innocent blood could be one of the main open doors that allow the curse of cancer (and death) to get in. (It is not difficult to understand, as unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred, resentment, etc. would have already set in before committing the murder.)

Shedding of innocent blood is being condemned by God in the Bible, for the blood would cry out to God for justice.

INNER VOWS

Curses can also be spoken over to us by ourselves or others.
Our tongues hold the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21).

For curses that others ever spoke over to you (like in a fight), if you had not rejected what they say, by silence it would still count as acceptance.

When the medical professionals spoke to you about your situation, you can still reject that by prayer.
For example, "I reject this diagnose or what the doctor pronounced over me in Jesus's name."

We also need to be careful on the 'jokes' that we said to ourselves, for example:
“I wish I am dead soon!”
“I want to die” / “Just let me die”
“My body just a trash meat-suit. It is good for nothing.”

Even though it was a joke to you, it was declaration in the spiritual realm. By saying them, you grant legal access right to the demonic kingdom to send you evil spirits, curses and calamity.

It is time to break any vows that hinder you from receiving complete healing from Heaven.

Constellations

Someone could be in the bondage not just from evil spirits but cosmological powers.

The curse and spirit of cancer shared the same word as the Cancer constellation.

The Greek physician Hippocrates coined tumors with Greek words karkinos and karkinoma (meaning "crab") because he described malignant tumors as looking like a crab. Cancer cells can cling, persist and adapt, just like crab.

This similarity is interesting.

Zodiac signs, astrology, Taoism, Buddhism, star worship… all involve the interaction with the cosmological powers.

Although stars are God’s creation, many are still hijacked by the kingdom of darkness for evil purposes. The whole creation is still groaning, waiting for redemption and be set free by the children of God (Romans 8:21-22). Jesus is still waiting until all His enemies be made a footstool for His feet (Hebrews 10:13). This is why we still need liberation from evil forces.

We need intentional enforcement of the work of the cross.
